Resident Evil creator Shinji Mikami and Silent Hill creator Keiichiro Toyama are two powerhouse names in the game industry, and they created franchises that have stood the test of time. While the two games might be different in approach and style, they no doubt share some similar DNA. This stems from a mutual respect between Mikami and Toyama, as well as common sensibilities.

In the video above, Mikami and Toyama sit down to chat about their respective franchises, and how they play off each other. The duo also looks back game creation in the 90s, and how working with polygonal titles was pretty much ‘wild west’ territory. These two devs and franchises were trailblazers in a new era of games, and they continue to remain influential to this day.
