The Super Mario Bros. movie gets a World Cup commercial

The Super Mario Bros. movie doesn’t release until April 7th, 2023, but Nintendo and Illumination have already started spreading the word with commercials. We’ve seen all sorts of online and TV commercials so far, but the latest example has a very specific theme.

The spot above shows Luigi and Dry Bones kicking around a soccer ball. It might seem like an odd choice at first, but this spot is airing in relation to the World Cup. With the World Cup running until December 18th, 2022, we should have a few more days of seeing this spot pop up on TV.

We’re not sure if there are other World Cup spots that feature different characters, or if this Luigi spot is the only one. We’ll certainly keep our eyes peeled for more commercials in the future!

That is cute, it's just weird seeing the April release date in a Spanish commercial since it's releasing earlier in Spanish speaking countries. I get this was for the American Spanish speaking audience, still weird though.
