Japanese software/hardware sales for Dec. 19th to Dec. 25th, 2022

Mario Kart 8 Deluxe reaches 5 million in total sales!

Wondering how the Switch held up in Japan this week? Switch titles impressively made up the entirety of the top 10 best-selling software list. Pokémon Scarlet and Violet continues on with its extraordinarily exceptional sales for the sixth week in a row, placing in first on the charts yet again by selling over 375k more copies. Splatoon 3 holds strong as well, following right behind with over 121k more units sold. Mario Kart 8 Deluxe has now reached a whopping 5 million total sales in Japan. No titles debuted this week.

As for hardware, the Switch maintained its top spot with the OLED model, selling 83,975 more units. This is followed by Sony’s PlayStation 5 retaking second place, with the standard Switch in third (42,430), with the Switch Lite in fourth (37,151).

Switch completely dominates the top 10 software chart, let's see when the top 30 chart is released. Switch hardware sales are down on previous weeks, but still are very good.
