Rocket League devs confirm bots cheating in ranked mode

If you’ve been playing Rocket League in ranked mode and felt like something was off, you may have been onto something. Fans have been lobbing complaints at developer Psyonix about players who seem to be acting quite suspiciously, and it turns out their sixth sense about funny business was spot-on.

Psyonix has confirmed that there are indeed bots in ranked mode. Some nefarious players out there have turned to trained AI bots to gum up the ranked works, although Psyonix says it’s a ‘small number.’ Along with that, Psyonix has said that they’re looking into solutions for this problem right now.

How do you know if you’re going up against a bot? Well, there’s no surefire way to decipher bot and human player right now, but there are some telltale signs. Keep an eye out for opponents who prefer ground play and barely jump up or perform aerial maneuvers. You should be able to feel out the difference between a skilled human player and a bot if you watch these tactics, so be ever vigilant!
