20 GB for an interactive movie, Jesus Christ...
Are video and audio files really that huge? Can someone with a little more knowledge enlighten me?


The short answer is yes, video files are just that large, especially if you want to maintain the quality, as the file size is dictated by the resolution and bitrate, so 1GB could easily be as low as 10min of video, or less, depending on different factors. The best example in the industry is a lot of devs making the jump to PS1 and using multiple discs solely because of videos taking up so much space they needed to split the game.

I thought with todays tech you would be able to compress those files without losing too much quality but I guess it's not that easy.
