Chrono Cross: The Radical Dreamers is seeing release on the Switch tomorrow in honor of the original game’s 23rd anniversary. It’s taken quite a long time for this classic title to make its way to modern platforms, but it turns out it took even longer than Square Enix expected.

In a new note shared by the dev team, we learn that Square Enix originally wanted to bring Chrono Cross: The Radical Dreamers to modern platforms for the game’s 20th anniversary. Obviously that didn’t happen, and we had to wait 3 years past that date to get the game!
