The lion’s share of talk about Resident Evil 4 right now may be focused on the upcoming remake, but some of that discussion deserves to be shifted over to an incredible tribute animation from a diehard fan.

Animator Cara Aleatorio has taken the iconic opening gameplay section of Resident Evil 4 and transformed it into a LEGO animation. You’d think bringing together the worlds of Resident Evil and LEGO wouldn’t work, but chances are watching this animation will make you wish Capcom and LEGO would team up for some sort of official release.

While this LEGO tribute certainly looks good enough to be real, Aleatorio revealed that the entire piece was created in Blender. From start to finish, it took Cara two months of work to create the short, which consists of 3,000 images.

Really well done! I don't think I'd play a Lego Resident Evil game, but it's fun to watch one for a little bit.

LOL that first enemy looks like it’s using the face model for LEGO Emperor Palpatine
