While this year was meant to be E3’s glorious return the event keeps being dealt bad hands. First the big 3 (Nintendo, Sony, and Microsoft) announced they wouldn’t be attending earlier this year and now Ubisoft is jumping ship as well.

In lieu of an E3 conference Ubisoft will instead hold a live version of their recent Ubisoft Forward presentations, basically Ubisoft’s take on the Nintendo Direct styled format, however this one will be able to be attended like a traditional E3 conference.

Here is what an Ubisoft spokesperson had to say about this news.

E3 has fostered unforgettable moments across the industry throughout the years… While we initially intended to have an official E3 presence, we’ve made the subsequent decision to move in a different direction, and will be holding a Ubisoft Forward Live event on June 12 in Los Angeles. We look forward to sharing more details with our players very soon

Needless to say the E3 show floor promises to be pretty interesting this year, but probably not in the way the ESA had hoped.

We will of course keep you updated on news on this Ubisoft Forward and E3 as a whole as this develops.

I'm ok with Nintendo not attendin, but since Ubisoft initially committed to attending, I have less respect for them that the areno longer.
