Masahiro Sakurai is back with the latest installment in his game development video series. This time around, he gives us a feature that slots into the Audio category.

According to Sakurai, sound effects in games tend to be exaggerated, but making them realistic may help convey more information. There’s nothing wrong with either approach, as long as you strike the right balance for your game.

Giving players an auditory package that enhances the experience can really take your game to the next level. If the lines have to be fudged a bit along the way for a superior game, it seems like the trade-off is well worth it!
