Akka Arrh Special Edition Contents revealed

Independent video game publisher, Numskull Games recently announced its new European Publishing partnership with Atari and subsequent release of Akka Arrh. Today the company can reveal the contents of Akka Arrh’s Special Edition, a release exclusive to Europe and also announce that the game is now available to pre-order at a number of European retailers.

Akka Arrh’s Special Edition will feature exclusive cover art to Europe and will also contain:

• 2 bespoke papercraft arcade cabinets.
• The first, a classic design based on the original concept of Akka Arrh and its prototype.
• The second, a contemporary design based on Jeff Minter’s recent re-imagining of the game.
• A sticker set featuring key art and iconography from Akka Arrh designed by Butcher Billy (@billythebutcher), a well known Brazilian artist, known for his pop-culture inspired work.

Akka Arrh’s Special Edition will be priced at £44.99 / €49.99 SRP and will be released for Switch.

Akka Arrh combines the intrigue of an incredibly rare Atari arcade prototype with the unique creative vision of Jeff Minter to deliver a wave shooter that is insanely fun to play. Akka Arrh drips with Minter’s sense of humour, his love of psychedelic colour and light, and his ability to flat-out create games that are a joy to play.

Akka Arrh is the name of your star cannon, which you control from a fixed turret called the Sentinel. Your mission is to keep enemies from penetrating the Sentinel’s perimeter. If any of them slip through, you zoom into the lower field and take them out. Once cleared, zoom back out and continue defending.
