Bubsy creator Mike Berlyn passes away at age 73

We’re very sad to report that Bubsy creator Mike Berlyn has passed away. Mr. Berlyn died at the age of 73.

Mike Berlyn started working in the game industry back in 1981, helping to release the PC game, Oo-Topos. Over the years Berlyn worked for game companies like Sentient Software and 989 Studios, EA, Activision and more.

Berlyn is most well-known for creating Bubsy, the platforming bobcat that appeared in a number of games over the years. While Berlyn created Bubsy, he actually only worked on two entries in the series; 1993’s Bubsy and Bubsy 3D.

Our hearts go out to all those impacted by the loss of Mike Berlyn.
