Outer Wilds was announced for Switch literally years ago, yet we’re still waiting on the game’s arrival. The last update we got on the game was back in July of 2022, which was nothing more than a confirmation from the dev team that the port was still in the works. Thankfully, today we’re getting something a bit more concrete.

As you may know, ratings boards can be a clue as to what’s coming next to Switch. We can get a sneak peek at unannounced titles or updates on projects inching ever closer to launch, and today brings us the latter on Outer Wilds. An ESRB listing has just popped up for Outer Wilds: Archaeologist Edition, which should definitely mean the release is right around the corner.

A game can only get an ESRB rating once it’s content complete, so whatever extra work had to go into Outer Wilds: Archaeologist Edition has been wrapped up. It should be just a matter of weeks until we get a firm release date, and as soon as that info is shared, we’ll bring it to you.
