Sonic Origins Plus getting regional variant covers

If you weren’t considering a purchase of Sonic Origins Plus by now, SEGA has one more reason you might want to consider. Well, actually…make that three.

SEGA has revealed that Sonic Origins Plus will have regional variant covers in North America, Europe and Japan. As you can see above, the variant covers are based on classic SEGA Genesis game boxes from decades ago. That means each region is getting a considerable different design.

Each region will only offer one variant cover, which means you’ll need to do some importing if you want to collect them all. That also means you’ll have to purchase the game three times over as well! I’m sure for the diehard Sonic fans out there, this won’t be a big deal and well worth the cost/trouble.
