The last we heard about the physical release of the Super Mario Bros. Movie was that it would arrive on DVD, Blu-ray and 4K Ultra HD on June 6th, 2023. Now it appears the movie’s home release may be delayed by nearly a month.

Word has come in that Universal is bumping back the home release for the film, and it’s now slated to arrive on July 1st, 2023. The only problem with that is the fact that July 1st, 2023 is a Saturday. That seems like quite a strange day for a home release, but it’s not completely out of the question.

Along with this, the streaming date for the Super Mario Bros. Movie seems to have vanished as well. At this time, we have no concrete info one when people will be able to stream the movie from the comfort of their homes.

I wonder if the movie's success has convinced them to keep it in theaters longer and milk the streaming period a bit more.

I'm disappointed though, because I wanted to buy the movie sooner. I'd like to see it again, but it's tough for me to get to theaters right now.

It wouldn’t be a Nintendo thing without at least one delay. ;)

It was a fun movie. Looking forward to grabbing the 4K blu-ray.

Either they need time to print more copies or they want to keep it in theaters longer... or both.
