Citizen Sleeper celebrates its first anniversary with announcements, competitions and more

Game developer Jump Over the Age and indie label Fellow Traveller today announced five days of celebratory activities in honor of Citizen Sleeper’s first anniversary. Running from Monday May 1st to Friday May 5th, the week will include multiple announcements, fan competitions, special livestreams and the game’s deepest ever discount.

Kicking the celebrations and announcements off, the “dream team” behind Citizen Sleeper are back together and working on an exciting new project! Citizen Sleeper’s solo developer, Gareth Damian Martin is teaming up again with narrative indie label Fellow Traveller, as well as the game’s iconic character artist Guillaume Singelin and renowned composer Amos Roddy for an exciting new project to be revealed in the near future.

Citizen Sleeper’s first year saw an incredible response from fans and critics alike, with half-a-million players, 12 prestigious award nominations from The Game Awards, the BAFTAs, and the IGF, and more than 30 placements in Game of the Year lists from the likes of Kotaku, The Gamer, Polygon, Giant Bomb, Nextlander, The Besties and many more.

Jump Over the Age and Fellow Traveller are encouraging fans to hit up the Citizen Sleeper category in the Fellow Traveller Discord to engage with the full five days of activity, and to sign up to the Jump Over the Age Substack to stay informed of new projects and developments in the expanded Citizen Sleeper universe. Everyone who signs up to the Substack will also receive exclusive access to hi-res wallpaper versions of the newly commissioned artwork at the head of this press release, and will be entered into the draw to win a special prize to be revealed on Wednesday May 3rd.

To celebrate its anniversary, beginning on May 4th, Citizen Sleeper will have a special anniversary discount of 33% - its highest discount yet - on Switch.

Citizen Sleeper and Jump Over the Age will also be participating in LudoNarraCon 2023, a celebration of narrative indie games in the style of a digital-only convention hosted by Fellow Traveller. The five-day event will see 44 exhibiting games, 16 panels & fireside chats, over 35 demos from up-and-coming indie narrative games, and a huge story-rich games sale. LudoNarraCon will run from May 4th - 8th.
