Zelda, Splatoon composer Ryo Nagamatsu leaves Nintendo
Sad to see him go
Nintendo is about to lose someone who’s been critical to crafting the sound of their biggest games.
Composer Ryo Nagamatsu, who’s worked on big-name games like Nintendo Land, Wii Sports Resort, The Legend of Zelda: A Link Between Worlds, the Switch remake of Link’s Awakening, Splatoon 2 and 3, Super Mario Galaxy 2, and Mario Kart 8 has announced that he’s left Nintendo. He wrapped up his duties at the Big N on April 30th, 2023.
Nagamatsu didn’t explain his reasoning for leaving Nintendo, but he did share a message with fans on Twitter. You can see his full statement below.
I have made a decision to leave the company of April 30, 2023. I will work a little wider and more directly to help those who need my help and to help the industry. Thank you all for your kind support! I look forward to serve you in the future! (an amicable settlement)
