Star Wars Jedi: Survivor is out for non-Nintendo consoles and yet a pretty neat Nintendo reference managed to make it’s way into the latest Star Wars release.

As seen in the above tweet from Jeff Grubb at one point in the game a group of small alien creatures will guide the player up a wall by showing them how to perform a wall jump. While this may seem innocuous to the lay man those who have played Super Metroid will already see the nod that was made, as the SNES title employed the same trick.

Considering the Metroid series borrowed heavily from 80’s sci-fi juggernauts like Star Wars and Alien this reference is both fun and touching, showing how far the series has come now that it’s inspiration is inspired by it.
