RUMOR: The Boys' Karl Urban in talks to play Johnny Cage in Mortal Kombat 2

Despite WWE Superstar The Miz very publicly campaigning for the chance to play Johnny Cage in the upcoming Mortal Kombat 2 film, it appears the powers that be have chosen another actor.
According to The Wrap, Karl Urban of The Boys fame is in final talks to take on the role of Johnny Cage in the upcoming Mortal Kombat movie sequel. No one officially involved with the film has commented on the casting rumor at this time.
Simon McQuoid, who directed the 2021 Mortal Kombat movie, is returning to handle the sequel. Jeremy Slater (“Moon Knight,” “The Umbrella Academy”) was the one behind the screenplay. Specifics on the storyline and other new/returning characters are yet to be revealed.
