I heard sand is coarse, and rough, and irritating

Back in early March, we shared news on the upcoming “Sandshrew Park” set to open in Japan’s Tottori prefecture. The park is part of Chubu Tottori Sand Dunes Children’s Park, and it’s officially open as of today!

Sandshrew Park includes slides, swings, and of course, a sandbox, all modeled after the Pokémon Sandshrew (and its Alolan counterpart). All in all, it’s very similar to the Geodude Park in Iwate Prefecture of Japan, albeit with Sandshrew as the star Pokémon.

If you’re a Pokémon GO Trainer, there’s good reason to visit Sandshrew Park as well. While in and around the park, you can expect a higher encounter rate for Sandshrew, and you can use the game’s AR function to take special Sandshrew pictures.

Speaking of pictures, you can find a bunch of Sandshrew Park pictures at this link!
