Orangepixel has announced that their latest project, Regulator City, is due out on Switch come 2023.
Regulator City is a top-down Roguelike shooter where you and an AI controlled team work together to clean up the city streets. You can check out a trailer above and read more in the overview below.
An Asteroid crashed in Regulator City, and an Alien substance called the Ooze started seeping out of it. This was quickly turned into a drug mutating who-ever Oozes up on it. Gangs around the city have been using it to become stronger and more dangerous.. but our scientists made a safe version to level the playing field by giving you super abilities!
So come lead your team to regulate the city and control the Ooze!
In this top-down shooter you are not alone, you are backed up by a team of trigger happy experts. They will help you out by taking down enemies, breaching doors, gathering intel, and destroying stuff! Use them as your main weapon!
You can lead the pack – but you can also just dictate the direction and let them do the dangerous work. It’s all about you surviving the missions… we can clone new team mates!
Completing missions will allow you to select new buildings for future missions, and the type of building is important! Build a hospital and you might gain 2 HP on your next mission. Or select an industrial building and unlock new weapon technology.
Just don’t forget: type of buildings also have an effect on the gangs in the city!
The alien substance that crashed in the city doesn’t just change the behavior of gang members. It has also been used to give you super abilities! Each playable character has a different set of Abilities and special dodge move.
Collect Alien Ooze throughout the city, to power your special ability and unleash it when you’re back is against the wall!
