Masahiro Sakurai is back with another game development video, and this one fits into the ‘Planning and Game Design’ category.

According to Sakurai, when a player presses a button, they expect a response. Obviously, Sakurai believes it’s best to make sure players get one!

There are plenty of games where button presses lead to actions, but sometimes they feel rather sluggish or slow to respond. This can be used to convey weight or timing drawbacks in specific situations, but you certainly wouldn’t want every button press to have the same feeling! When a player presses a button, show them the results of their action!
