Bayonetta Origins: Cereza and the Lost Demon is a wonderful game through and through, and painstaking detail has been paid to every aspect of the experience. That very much includes the game’s storybook-inspired visuals, which really make the title stand out.

In a new dev blog from PlatinumGames, VFX Artist Anju Kishi goes into great depth explaining the approach, direction, and creation of Bayonetta Origins’ visual style. Platinum put extra emphasis on making sure the story appeared as if it were taking place inside a picture book itself. It seems like a simple theme, but getting it just right proved quite challenging.

If you’d like to learn more about how Bayonetta Origins achieved its storybook-like visuals and the crazy amount of work that went into it, you can get the full breakdown in the latest dev blog.
