Ganondorf could see his role evolve as the Zelda series continues, says Nintendo
Make me your villain if you must
The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom has just arrived, giving fans the world over a chance to see what Link, Zelda, and Ganondorf have been up to.
Based on the trailers and decades of Zelda games before it, no one’s surprised to see Ganondorf as the villain in Tears of the Kingdom. That’s always the role Ganondorf plays, but that doesn’t mean things can’t evolve for the character going forward.
In an interview with the NY Times, Nintendo’s Eiji Aonuma talked a bit about Ganondorf and his role in the Legend of Zelda series in general. According to Aonuma, there’s certainly potential for expanding the villain’s personality.
“It’s very possible from here on out that we will be able to see further character development and changes to his (Ganondorf’s) personality as the series continues. Ganondorf is an ingredient that we use to supplement gameplay.”
