The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild has one of the most dedicated and talented group of speedrunners out there. They’ve been optimizing paths, discovering glitches, and breaking the game a million different ways since day one, and all in the name of speeding from start to fonish.
Just like the rest of us, the speedrunning community has been incredibly excited for the launch of The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom. Now that the game is here, speedrunners jumped in and set out to clear the game as quickly as possible. Surprisingly, someone has already managed to clock in a speedrun that’s under 100 minutes.
This goes without saying, but the video above is chock-full of spoilers for The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom. That doesn’t matter to speedrunner gymnast86 though, as they wanted to blast through the game as quickly as possible, not savor every moment. Tears of the Kingdom is a game that offers hundreds, if not thousands of hours of gameplay. Seeing it already whittled down to just 94 minutes is mind-boggling.
Of course, things will only get more insane from here. This 94 minute mark is just the start, and speedrunners will no doubt lower that total considerably as the weeks and months roll on. We can’t wait to see what odd tricks, bugs and glitches they discover all in the name of rolling the credits!
