The Ivors Academy is one of the largest professional associations for music writers in Europe. The academy exists to support, protect, and campaign for the interests of songwriters, lyricists, and composers. It represents music writers of all genres and has approximately 2000 members. It also has its own awards ceremony, and a Nintendo-related title came away with a win.

The Ivors Academy has given the Best Original Video Game Score Award to Mario + Rabbids: Sparks of Hope, with the win going to composers Gareth Coker, Grant Kirkhope and Yoko Shimomura. While Mario + Rabbids: Sparks of Hope didn’t light the sales charts up like most had hoped, it’s nice to see the game getting some recognition for its soundtrack.

That’s all there is for game-related content to share from The Ivors, but there’s still plenty of music categories in general to sift through. If you’d like to see the other winners and categories, you can find them on the Ivors Twitter account.
