Switch the #1 console in Europe for May 2023

Thanks to the then-impending launch of The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom, Nintendo saw the Switch return to the #1 position in Europe for May 2023.

While we’re still waiting on the full breakdown, we now know that the Switch was the #1 hardware in Europe for May 2023. This sales jump was spurred on by the release of The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom Switch OLED, which led to a 40% hardware sales boost compared to May 2022.

The Zelda excitement also led to an amiibo rush. It turns out the Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom amiibo were the 5th best-selling add-on/accessory in gaming for May 2023.
