The Legend of Zelda: Majora’s Mask is definitely one of the most interesting and unique entries in the long-running franchise. Turns out even the game’s name has a bit of surprising trivia tied to it!
We all know what Majora’s Mask is in terms of the game itself, but where on earth did the name Majora come from? One of the people who worked on Majora’s Mask is Takaya Imamura, and in an interview with VGC, the former Nintendo dev shared insight into how the name came to be.
“Yes, that was originally based on my name. I wanted to use the ‘Jura’ part because I’m a big fan of Jurassic Park. ‘Ima-Jura’… that’s where the name came from.”
