Just last week, EA made the shocking announcement that EA Sports FC 24 on Switch would be a brand-new installment in the series, and not another ‘Legacy’ reskin that the Switch has been receiving for years now. EA is going all-out on this debut FC entry on Switch, and it sounds like Switch fans should be excited.

In an interview with IGN, John Shepherd, VP, Executive Producer at Electronic Arts spoke at length about EA Sports FC 24 on Switch. Shepherd said the Switch game will have all the same modes as other versions, and achieving this was no easy task.

“It’s going to have all the modes. It’s more representative of the Xbox One, PS4 gameplay, than it would be the PlayStation 5, latest-gen gameplay. There are a few differences, just because of the hardware, but the game’s running great.

That’s been multiple years, just trying to get that working really nicely on Switch. We were reviewing it with Nintendo not too long ago. Everyone’s really excited about it.

It was a collaboration not just with FC, but across EA. We had to get a lot of Frostbite support to get everything working on Switch. It’s a huge achievement, honestly.”

It is worth noting that one feature the Switch version of EA Sports FC 24 will lack is cross-play. If you’re hopping online to play, you’ll only be going up against other Switch players. Outside of that, the Switch outing should be quite similar to what you’ll find on other platforms.
