While most Mortal Kombat 1 players will no doubt be playing the game in a versus setting, there’s also going to be a considerable single player component as well. Recent Mortal Kombat games have offered story modes for fans to work through and learn about the cast of characters, and Mortal Kombat 1 will continue that tradition.

Wondering how long it’ll take you to work through the story in Mortal Kombat 1? Series co-creator Ed Boon was asked this very question, and while he didn’t give an exact number, he did give plenty of insight.

According to Boon, Mortal Kombat 1’s story mode will be similar in length to the story mode of Mortal Kombat X and 11. For those who haven’t played those games, it takes roughly 5 to 6 hours to work through their story modes start to finish. It’s nice to know that Mortal Kombat 1 will be offering roughly the same experience length-wise.
