Platinum Games has been running a dev blog series for Bayonetta Origins: Cereza and the Lost Demon pretty much since the game launched, and they’re back with yet another installment today.

In the latest blog and video from Platinum, we get to hear from Jun Seung Jin, Lead Concept Artist for Bayonetta Origins: Cereza and the Lost Demon. Jin is here to give fans of the spin-off a deep look at the Avalon Forest, a major location in the game.

According to Jin, Platinum knew right from the very beginning of development that this game would be a story about the origins of Bayonetta herself, and a new enemy force called “faeries” would appear in the game. With these concepts in mind, the team immediately envisioned the stylized illustration-like touch that would set this experience apart from the previous Bayonetta games.

If you’d like to see more concept art from the game and learn about how the designs came to be, you can find the full blog here.
