While there have been games that take on musical aspects before, there hasn’t been anything quite like Stray Gods: The Roleplaying Musical. This game really does aim to embody everything and anything that musicals offer, all while putting the player in control of where the story goes. That leads to a ton of variation and possibilities, and not surprisingly, an incredible amount of music.

In an interview with Game Informer, composer Austin Wintory opened up on the mountain of work that went into Stray Gods: The Roleplaying Musical. Due to the amount of branching paths and opportunities there are within the story, Wintory had to come up with over 6 hours worth of music for the experience.

With so many places where the player can forge their own path, and so many different paths to choose, it’s likely there will be portions of the game’s soundtrack that will only be heard by a very small amount of players. Thankfully, those who enjoy the game can also look forward to hearing every bit of music the game has to offer in a soundtrack release. With the sheer amount of music in Stray Gods: The Roleplaying Musical, Wintory has said he plans to release 4 different albums to gather it all.
