RUMOR: Did Pokémon Co. use a fan-made music arrangement in a Pokémon Scarlet/Violet trailer?

Earlier today, Pokémon Co. shared a new trailer for the upcoming DLC for Pokémon Scarlet/Violet. Shortly after that trailer aired, one composer took to X to share an accusation of uncredited use of their remix in that very trailer.

According to ND Music, they believe Pokémon Co. used their remix of the Area Zero theme in today’s Pokémon Presents trailer. You can hear the ND Music version of the track below, along with the version heard in the official trailer. Fast-forward the official trailer to the 3:18 mark to hear the comparison.

We have to admit, the two versions do sound extremely similar. Of course, ND Music made a remix of the official Pokémon Co. track, so there’s a little bit of a gray area when it comes to using that remix.

While we don’t know for sure if Pokémon Co. used the fan-remix, you’d have to think that if they did, a credit would be the very least they could do. Hopefully Pokémon Co. comments on this matter in the near future. If they do, we’ll make sure to bring their statement to you.
