Sonic the Hedgehog-Themed Pop-Up Restaurant Announces Extended Stay and Special Acoustic Performances

Today, Sonic the Hedgehog Speed Cafe is announcing that it has extended its San Diego pop-up location in the Gaslamp Quarter through Aug. 31, 2023, and will host acoustic performances from the Sonic Symphony on Aug. 18, 2023.

Since the Sonic the Hedgehog Speed Cafe opened on July 13, the response from the community has been overwhelmingly positive. Sonic fans have visited from near and far to experience the immersive, nostalgic restaurant, inspiring the SEGA and Secret Sauce Society teams to keep the pop-up open through Aug. 31, 2023. Sonic the Hedgehog Speed Cafe will host merchandise giveaways throughout its extended stay, offering prizes such as Sonic-themed mugs, backpacks and a Sonic Pixel Frame. In addition to extending its time in San Diego, Sonic the Hedgehog Speed Cafe will host three special scaled-down acoustic performances on Friday, Aug. 18, 2023, featuring select members of the Sonic Symphony, including symphony creator and producer Shota Nakama. The first performance will begin at 11:30 a.m., and additional details for the mid-afternoon and evening performances will be available on social media.

Sonic the Hedgehog Speed Cafe will be open from 11 a.m. - 9 p.m. through Aug. 31, 2023.
