Pokémon GO celebrated its 7th anniversary just last month. It’s pretty crazy to think its been 7 long years since the game took the world by storm, and even more impressive that hundreds of millions of players still fire up the game every day all this time later.

Thanks to some research from Data.ai, we now know that Pokemon GO has reached a staggering 678 million downloads worldwide since it originally launched in 2016. It’s probably not surprising to learn that the United States is Pokémon GO’s biggest region, with the game being downloaded 164 million times in that region alone. Even more impressive, Pokémon GO is the fourth most downloaded game of all time in the U.S..

When it comes to global representation, Pokémon GO is the 18th most-downloaded game of all-time across iOS and Android. The game has been in the top 20 of all-time in average monthly active users globally on iOS and Android during the first half of 2023 as well.

I'm still playing this game after all these years. I don't spend money in it or play it obsessively, but I always open it during my walks or while listening to a podcast and mess around it in for a few minutes. Sounds like I'm not alone!
