As you no doubt know, Nintendo announced Splatoon 3’s release date earlier today. The game is set to arrive on September 9th, 2022, eking out a Summer 2022 release. In that official announcement, Nintendo also shared a tiny tidbit about some of the game’s single-player content.

First off, today was our first official confirmation that Splatoon 3 will have a single-player mode, much like the previous two Splatoon games did. In Splatoon 3’s single-player adventure, you’ll join Agent 3 in a fight against the unruly Octarians and discover the secrets of a mysterious place called Alterna and the Fuzzy Ooze. As of right now, those are the only details we have to go on, but things certainly sound enticing!

Along with that, we have confirmation that Splatoon 3 will support cloud saves. This wasn’t a feature utilized in Splatoon 2, so it’s nice to see Nintendo make the change for this threequel. Nothing major by any means, but a nice quality of life improvement.

Worth noting that this is not the first confirmation of that single player, there was a whole trailer for it in September. The cloud saves are awesome though.

The addition of cloud saves more than likely mean that the way clothing gains abilities has been reworked, hopefully to being fully customizable, since a big reason they weren't around was to eliminate save scumming for good ability rolls.
