Pikmin 3 came to the Wii U all the way back in 2013, and Nintendo fans had to wait 10 years to get the next numbered installment. Thankfully, Pikmin 4 has been more than worth the wait, and it seems like this installment is set to become the best-selling Pikmin title yet.

With all sorts of new fans flocking to the Pikmin series, you have to wonder what Nintendo’s next move for the franchise is. While they’re not ready to say anything in particular, we do have some hope that it won’t take another 10 years to see what’s next for Pikmin.

In an interview with Eurogamer, Nintendo’s Takashi Tezuka was asked about the 10-year wait between Pikmin 3 and 4. In particular, Tezuka was asked in a rather playful manner if Nintendo could make sure Pikmin 5 doesn’t take another 10 years to come around. Tezuka said that he thought that “would be best as well,” and then followed by saying, “we’ll try not to let everyone wait.”
