Any good Animal Crossing fan knows that the game includes a number of art pieces that are one-to-one recreations of real-life art. Sure, it might be hard to find legitimate copies of these pieces in-game due to Redd’s shady dealings, but once you go through the trouble of verifying, you can amass a virtual collection of some real-world wonders.

Animal Crossing: New Horizons happens to feature 43 digital representations of real-life art from various masters over the years. Da Vinci’s Mona Lisa, Van Gogh’s The Starry Night, Botticelli’s The Birth of Venus and many others are found in the game, and one Animal Crossing diehard fan was so moved by their inclusion that he wanted to see them in real life. The video above shows a trip that Animal Crossing fan Mayuren Naidoo undertook, and all in the name of New Horizons. The trip spanned 3 continents, 10 countries, 17 cities and 29 museums, and it took 16 months to complete. When all was said and done, Naidoo managed to see all 43 real-life art pieces that he first encountered in Animal Crossing: New Horizons.

Nintendo will no doubt be ecstatic to see that their creation managed to inspire a fan out there to travel the world and see the real-life inspirations behind New Horizons’ fine works.
