Touhou Luna Nights has been available on the Switch since December 2020, but something new is in the works for our friends in Japan. Publisher PLAYISM and developer Team Ladybug have announced that Touhou Luna Nights is getting a physical Switch release in Japan, and it’s set to arrive on Jan. 25th, 2024.
PLAYISM has revealed that they’re working on both standard and limited editions of Touhou Luna Nights. The standard edition will include the original soundtrack as a first-print bonus, while the limited edition will include a special box, the original soundtrack, three replacement cover arts, and eight tin badges.
Touhou Luna Nights is an exploration-focused 2D action title from indie development studio Team Ladybug which has garnered over 10,000 Overwhelmingly Positive reviews on Steam. The protagonist is a recurring Touhou Project character, Sakuya Izayoi. Remilia Scarlet, head vampire of the Scarlet Devil Mansion, sends her maid Sakuya Izayoi with no warning to a world much like Gensokyo, but not quite. With no choice but to search for a way out of this strange world of Luna Nights, Sakuya begins her journey.
