room6 has shared the details for Return to Shironagasu Island’s upcoming update (v1.0.4), which is planned to be released on September 18th, 2023. The update includes some quality-of-life improvements, bug fixes, and more. Check out the full patch notes below.

- Skip function was changed to only skip text instead of fast-forward
- Adds ability to hide the text box at any time when the player can enter inputs
- Adds support for camera shake on each screen, matching the behaviour of the Steam version
- Adds support for background transitions and transition effects on each screen, matching the behaviour of the Steam version
- Disables burn-in reduction function / sleep mode during the ending
