Nintendo releasing wind-up Bulborb toy in Japan

Pikmin 4 appears to be the best-selling Pikmin game of the entire franchise, and by a sizable margin. You all know what that kind of success means. Here comes the Pikmin merch train, and Nintendo is kicking things off with something special for Japan.

Pikmin players are very familiar with Bulborbs, as they’ve been a thorn in planetary explorers’ sides ever since the first installment. Now Nintendo is paying tribute to these bothersome behemoths with a special wind-up toy, and you can see it in action in the X post above.

As of right now, this wind-up Bulborb has only been announced for Japan. There’s no word on pricing or a release date just yet, but we know it’ll be sold at Nintendo Tokyo, Kyoto and Osaka. Keep fingers and toes crossed for a worldwide release sometime next year.
