We’ve seen it happen quite a few times before. A physical version of a Switch game gets announced, and then we come to learn that a download is required anyway. Unfortunately, that appears to be the case with the upcoming physical release of My Time at Sandrock.

Multiple retail listings for the physical version of My Time at Sandrock include the cover art, and that cover includes the all-too-familiar logo at the bottom that states a download is required. Not exactly what you want to see when planning to go the physical route.

As you can see above, the logo that states a download required also says to see the back of the box for more details. We’d love to let you know the specifics on what those details are, but we can’t find any retailer that has shared the back of the box yet. There’s a chance the download required might be for extra content, but that’s just speculation at this point.

Lastly, we do want to point out that both the PlayStation and Xbox physical releases of My Time at Sandrock also require a download. It’s nice to know that Switch owners aren’t getting singled out this time, but it’s still not a great situation for anyone.

Thanks to Banjokazooiebeta for the heads up!
