The Switch firmware has been updated to Ver. 17.0.0. You can see the patch notes for this update below.

  • General system stability improvements to enhance the user’s experience.

Along with those official notes come from some details spotted by dataminer, OatmealDome. Here’s what’s been discovered hiding in today’s firmware update.

  • Nearly every system component was updated, as is normal for major updates,
  • New error code messages were added.
  • Various HOME menu messages were changed
  • Various GUI files were also changed
  • Time zone data was updated.
  • “thot” and “reeee” were banned in all languages.
  • Various censor-evading slang words for testicles in Japanese were blocked
  • Other offensive terms were added for all languages
