Japan’s Fukui Prefecture just landed itself a new ambassador, and it’s one pretty much every Pokémon fan will be familiar with.

Pokémon Co. has announced that Dragonite is an official ambassador for Japan’s Fukui Prefecture, and a multitude of collaborative events and promotions are on the way. As Fukui Prefecture is home to a sizable dinosaur museum, Dragonite makes for the perfect ambassador in the area.


While a full lineup of Dragonite’s duties and events haven’t been shared, we do know what’s coming in the near future. Here’s a look at what to expect through Dragonite’s ambassadorship.
