Super Mario RPG physical instruction booklet seeing release in Japan

Back in the day, every single game would come with an instruction booklet, and most of them were in color. Super Mario RPG was one of those games, and Nintendo is bringing back the idea for the game’s Switch remake.

Nintendo has announced that they’ll be offering a physical instruction booklet for Super Mario RPG in Japan, and it’ll see release day-and-date with the game on Nov. 17th, 2023. This booklet will be available at retailers and department stores in Japan, but it’s unclear if it’s a free pickup or a paid product.

This instruction booklet is modeled after the same one that came with the SNES version of Super Mario RPG decades ago. Inside, fans will find an overview of the game, character biographies, info on collecting treasures, battling bosses, battle mechanics and even some game trivia. There’s no word on if a similar booklet will be made available outside of Japan.
