Nintendo on the importance of maintaining IP quality over setting sales targets, and expanding IP reach outside of games

Following their Q2 2024 fiscal report, Nintendo hosted an investor Q&A. In the following exchange, Nintendo president Shuntaro Furakawa discusses how Nintendo makes sure to carefully handle their IP to create content that fans enjoy and connect with, rather than striving for sales targets and revenue first. Mr. Furukawa also talks about how Nintendo’s ventures outside of game development help woo new customers towards their games.
