Mario Kart 8 Deluxe is the Switch’s best-selling game overall. Roughly half of all Switch owners have scooped the game up, and the title continues to shift units every single month. That includes over in Spain, where the title has just achieved a monumental milestone.
The latest sales information for Spain shows that Mario Kart 8 Deluxe has climbed itself into a record-setting position. After launching years ago, Mario Kart 8 Deluxe had achieved total sales of roughly 1.1 million. That is good enough to make the game the best-selling entry in franchise history for Spain.
The previous record-holder for Spain was Mario Kart Wii, and obviously all of those sales were physical. With Mario Kart 8 Deluxe, the game has achieved its top-selling status through physical sales alone as well, but we all know that a heaping helping of units have been sold digitally on top of that. Still, with just the physical data, Mario Kart 8 Deluxe is now Spain’s reigning champ.
