Sonic the Hedgehog 3 hits theaters Dec. 20th, 2024

Bit of a good news/bad news situation for those looking forward to the third Sonic movie. The good news is that we have an official release date, but the bad news is that we’ll have to wait over a year to see it.

The official Sonic the Hedgehog Movie account on X shared an update out of nowhere on the third entry in the film franchise. Following multiple strikes in the entertainment industry, it appears production on the film is back on track, leading to Paramount locking in a release date.

Sonic the Hedgehog 3 is set to arrive in theaters December 20th, 2024. That means we’ve got more than a year to whittle away until we see Sonic back on the big screen. Hopefully we get some other Sonic content in the meantime in order to make the wait less brutal!
