Nintendo has a litany of franchises under their belt that they’ve iterated upon over the years, but some have gotten more love than others. Kid Icarus is certainly one of the lesser-loved brands, but Reggie Fils-Aime would really like to see Nintendo switch things up.

In an interview with Kinda Funny Games, Reggie spoke up on franchises he wants to see new things from. This is where he particularly called out Kid Icarus.

“I want to see other older franchises with a new look. I’d love to see something with Kid Icarus and a new direction there.”

Man fans are hoping Kid Icarus: Uprising, the 3DS installment, would get a port to the Switch, but I think we’d all agree that a brand-new installment would be the best option of all. Let’s hope Nintendo is listening!

I think Kid Icarus is already a great example of an old franchise with a new direction. I'd just love to see more of THAT.

But I can certainly agree with his sentiment. I don't know why we couldn't have a new kind of Ice Climbers, Wrecking Crew, or Startropics.
