The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom is a game filled to the brim with mysteries. Some of those mysteries are solved by the time the credits roll, and others are left up to the player to ponder. Well, that is until Nintendo feels like sharing some insight, and that’s exactly what happened today.
Nintendo Dream magazine had the chance to speak to Nintendo’s Hidemaro Fujibayashi about The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom, and he opened up on a number of topics about the title. Surprisingly, Fujibayashi gave an extremely straightforward answer about the many shrines you see in the game, alongside the spiral of light above each. If you’ve ever wondered what each one signifies, we now have a clear-cut answer!
Shrines are placed above where a demon was destroyed so it will not reappear. This is why that spiral of light emerges from the shrine. Therefore, bathing in the remaining power of the shrines slightly cleanses Link of the demon magic.
