Pokémon Sleep 'New Year 2024' event announced
Ring in the new year...in bed!
Pokémon Sleep fans, get ready to kick off the new year with a fresh reason to grab some zzzzs. Pokémon Co. has announced that a New Year 2024 event begins in Pokémon Sleep at 4:00 a.m. on Monday, January 1st, 2023!
New Year 2024 is a week-long event to celebrate the beginning of the new year. During the event, you can get 1.5 times the usual Sleep EXP. Also, if you track your sleep every day during the event, you can get a total of 2,024 bonus sleep points.
You’ll be able to meet Pokémon of different sleep types regardless of your own, and some Pokémon such as Bulbasaur, Charmander, and Squirtle will be more likely to appear. You can see a full breakdown of what the event has in store below.
- Day 1: Monday, January 1 at 4:00 a.m. to Tuesday, January 2 at 3:59 a.m.
- Day 2: Tuesday, January 2 at 4:00 a.m. to Wednesday, January 3 at 3:59 a.m.
- Day 3: Wednesday, January 3 at 4:00 a.m. to Thursday, January 4 at 3:59 a.m.
- Day 4: Thursday, January 4 at 4:00 a.m. to Friday, January 5 at 3:59 a.m.
- Day 5: Friday, January 5 at 4:00 a.m. to Saturday, January 6 at 3:59 a.m.
- Day 6: Saturday, January 6 at 4:00 a.m. to Sunday, January 7 at 3:59 a.m.
- Day 7: Sunday, January 7 at 4:00 a.m. to Monday, January 8 at 3:59 a.m.
Participating in the event is easy! Simply tap the “Sleep” button before going to sleep during the event period to track your sleep. A variety of event-related effects will be triggered during your research. Note: Event bonuses can be triggered in any area for this event.

Greater Appearance Rate
- Bulbasaur, Charmander, Squirtle, Pikachu, Snover, Abomasnow
The greater appearance rate for these Pokémon applies only to the separate areas where each Pokémon appears.
- Greengrass Isle: Bulbasaur, Charmander, Squirtle, Pikachu
- Cyan Beach: Squirtle, Pikachu
- Taupe Hollow: Charmander
- Snowdrop Tundra: Snover, Abomasnow
Notes about New Year 2024
- [Important] Each day of the New Year event rolls over at 4:00 a.m.
- Event bonuses apply only to sleep tracking that begins within the event period.
- If you wait to report sleep data tracked before the event begins, and select “Review Later” during the event, event bonuses will not be applied.
- If you wait to report sleep data tracked during the event, and select “Review Later” after the event has ended, event bonuses will be applied.
- You can only receive bonus sleep points once per day. You will not receive bonus sleep points for the second sleep session in a day.
- Event bonuses do not apply to sleep tracking during the tutorial.
- Event bonuses will be triggered regardless of which site you conduct your sleep research in.
